Hawkesbury Business Services, circa 2004.
Our Story
Founded by Linda Benfield in 2003, Hawkesbury Business Services began with an IKEA desk, a laptop, and a passion for helping small businesses thrive. After years working in banking and business finance, Linda saw the opportunity to offer hands-on, practical support to business owners who needed help behind the scenes – but didn’t need (or want) the commitment of full-time staff.
Linda’s first clients were people who already knew what she could do, and were quick to jump at the chance to have her assist with the management of their business administration. It wasn’t long before her client list grew, thanks to word of mouth and the real impact she was making for local businesses.
As demand grew, Linda brought on her first worker so that she could continue offering reliable, personal bookkeeping services that business owners could count on. Over the years, HBS continued to expand its reach while staying true to its roots: personalised support, genuine relationships, and a deep understanding of what it takes to run a small business.
Today, Linda leads a team of eight women, proudly managing the books and business needs of more than 200 clients across a wide range of industries. What started as a one-woman show has grown into a trusted local business, but the heart of HBS remains the same: practical, personal support for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
